Magic windows

Garza, C.L. (1999). Magic windows. San Francisco, CA: Children’s Book Press.

Cut-out shapes and lines fill each image of this book with vibrant art of the Mexican culture. Whether the images focus on the wild eagle that represents Mexico, or flour tortillas, each one comes to life as they are explained in both English and Spanish. The book links each image to the next in a unifying theme of culture and family.

Next, students will transfer their image onto the tissue paper, tracing the images carefully. The teacher will model this process for students.
