Kenneth Watson lives in Flint, Michigan with his family.
Kenny faces constant bullying at school and from his brother. After a series of
Byron’s mischievous deeds, the Watsons buy a new car and make the long trip to
Alabama to visit Grandma Sands. Known for her strict personality, Grandma Sands
will keep Byron over the summer or longer if he does not “shape up”. When
Grandma Sands’ church is bombed, the family heads home to Michigan.
